• Have a Great Weekend!

What are your plans for this weekend? I’m going to spend it outside as much as I can.

This week I spent a lot of time in my office writing and editing a few short stories that I want to self-publish. One of which I might submit to a writing contest. I haven’t committed to it but since the deadline is looming, I should make up my mind about it soon.

Because of writing, I haven’t had time to search the internet for some cool links. I’ve been listening to music though.  The songs are from the Mission Impossible Fallout movie, and since the new trailer hit this week, I thought it was appropriate. My favorite is the first song called Friction by Imagine Dragons. It’s the song played in the background during the 1st trailer.

Have a quick listen and tell me what you think. The movie will be released July 27 and I can’t wait to watch Tom Cruise in action.

  • Flashback Friday : Thompson Twins

I haven’t posted a Flashback Friday in a very long time.

In fact, it feels like ages. Ever since my website took a hit from a serious update… from the inner dark webs from my hosting server… I had to regroup, rethink, and revamp the site. Fast.

I’ve been trying to recover and get back to normal blogging since that crash. Indeed, that’s a story I’ll have to share with you on another day. Not right now though. Nevertheless, here’s my chosen pick for this week: Lies from the Thompson Twins.

I first discovered the Thompson Twins from the movie Sixteen Candles. You know, the epic concluding scene where Molly Ringwald’s character steps out from the church, after her sister’s wedding and low and behold…there he is… Jake, standing so handsomely in front of his red sports car. AND he’s there for her, not for that other girl. That’s the song….If You Were Here.

I did consider that song as my Flashback pick, but wanted a dance mood for this weekend. Because it’s finally FRIDAY.

I love this song. To me it feels nostalgic 80’s pop culture with the fashion, hair, make up, dance…you name it.

Tell me what you think! Yay or No way?

    Finally Friday!!

This week has been so busy (productively so) that I actually found myself getting my days mixed up. I thought yesterday was Friday when it was actually Thursday, and you can kind of guess what else by working backwards from that day.

Nevertheless, today is officially Friday. I’m writing a few short stories. I still have work to do with another new WIP, mostly research. I love research, but I can get so entrenched in (meticulous) research and forget about writing. Balance is a work in progress for me. Something that I am always striving.

So here are my favorite links from this week. It’s an assortment of sorts. From high end literature to beauty.

    Have a great weekend!

  • Words of Wisdom

Sharing and passing along this beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn. It’s a constant reminder to myself. In the days of digital oversharing on social media, may we take these words of wisdom and be kind to ourselves. -xo, K.

  • Happy Weekend!

I don’t have anything planned for this weekend. I’ve been focusing on staying off the computer and using my cell phone sparingly on weekends. It’s been really nice to just turn the internet off. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll answer my text messages, check emails once, but then go do something that isn’t related to being online. What are your weekend plans and goals? Whatever you do, make it a great one!

    • I’m actually considering use of Castor Oil in my beauty routine.

I discovered the British Library’s collection on William Shakespeare.

When it’s cold outside, I want to just snuggle inside wearing this warm cardigan.

Not only have I always loved this song, but this State Farm commercial is one of my favorites with their message.

I’m always on the look out for the perfect Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe. Still haven’t found what I’m looking for, but I tried this one from Williams Sonoma. It is the best so far!
