• Have a Great Weekend!

What are your plans for this weekend? I’m going to spend it outside as much as I can.

This week I spent a lot of time in my office writing and editing a few short stories that I want to self-publish. One of which I might submit to a writing contest. I haven’t committed to it but since the deadline is looming, I should make up my mind about it soon.

Because of writing, I haven’t had time to search the internet for some cool links. I’ve been listening to music though.  The songs are from the Mission Impossible Fallout movie, and since the new trailer hit this week, I thought it was appropriate. My favorite is the first song called Friction by Imagine Dragons. It’s the song played in the background during the 1st trailer.

Have a quick listen and tell me what you think. The movie will be released July 27 and I can’t wait to watch Tom Cruise in action.

  • Links I Love

    Finally Friday!!

This week has been so busy (productively so) that I actually found myself getting my days mixed up. I thought yesterday was Friday when it was actually Thursday, and you can kind of guess what else by working backwards from that day.

Nevertheless, today is officially Friday. I’m writing a few short stories. I still have work to do with another new WIP, mostly research. I love research, but I can get so entrenched in (meticulous) research and forget about writing. Balance is a work in progress for me. Something that I am always striving.

So here are my favorite links from this week. It’s an assortment of sorts. From high end literature to beauty.

    Have a great weekend!

    1. I’m currently taking this course and find it interesting.
    2. I am coveting this cool clutch from Jcrew.
    3. Searching for some inspirational tech background for your laptop?
    4. I found this article interesting.

  • Words of Wisdom

Sharing and passing along this beautiful quote from Audrey Hepburn. It’s a constant reminder to myself. In the days of digital oversharing on social media, may we take these words of wisdom and be kind to ourselves. -xo, K.

  • Happy Weekend!

I don’t have anything planned for this weekend. I’ve been focusing on staying off the computer and using my cell phone sparingly on weekends. It’s been really nice to just turn the internet off. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll answer my text messages, check emails once, but then go do something that isn’t related to being online. What are your weekend plans and goals? Whatever you do, make it a great one!

    • I’m actually considering use of Castor Oil in my beauty routine.
    • Six Fairy Tales for the Modern Woman.
    • This new look book collection from Anthropologie is making me want warmer weather to arrive.
    • If you want to discover something new to read, hop over to Barnes and Noble Reads blog.
    • I’m inspired by Anna Bond’s Black and White Florida home.

  • Just a little note from me //

I have so much to be thankful for. Where do I even begin? First, I don’t take any day for granted. Make it the most while you can, I say. Be grateful. Be thankful for what you have. No matter what your current circumstance, there is someone who is struggling more than you. That’s my personal motto.

I’m thankful I discovered my passion. Even if it was late in life. Hard to believe I actually studied business and accounting, and worked as an accountant for awhile before I discovered I hated it. I have always loved to read and English was my best subject, so why not go for it?

My writing. It’s always ongoing and I love the revision process. The writing part is difficult, but that’s part of the challenge.  Revising is cleaning up and reorganizing my thoughts, which I had to really figure it out. This time it feels more promising. I can’t share a lot with you right now because, well, I don’t want to jinx it and also, because I’m working with an editor.

Seriously though, I would rather work quietly and be patient for now. When the time is right, I’ll share the details then. In the meantime, here’s a song on my writing playlist.

I’ve been listening to a lot of music lately and I can’t deny the influence it has on my work. Music is the driving force for my writing inspiration.

One song I’ve been playing on repeat is from an indie artist called Belgian Fog. I love his music. Truly a gifted artist. Have a listen and enjoy!

  • Stories Cut From Paper

I discovered this fantastic TED talk last week and wanted to share it with you.

Beatrice Coron is an amazing artist who creates stories from paper.  When you see her work you’ll understand why. Listen to her describe the creative process. It’s an inspiring talk and I hope you’ll glean some inspiration from her work.
