I’ve been missing in action on the blog. I have an excuse. For the last week I’ve been bitten by the Spring bug. Oh, you know, the Spring Cleaning kind.
I cleaned out almost everything.
My bedroom. My dressers. My bathroom. My make up area.
Cleaned out my office.
Cleaned out old files and paperwork lingering on and around my workspace.
Cleaned out my studio storage.
It was totally worth it because after this long winter, my home needed it, and bonus, I was
able to donate several of my used items to charity. That felt even better.
Now that my office is cleaned up, I’m back to writing. I can’t write when I’m surrounded by clutter, so a few of you out there might understand this.
I also like to burn candles when I write. It helps to create a more positive and inspiring atmosphere, which really helps my writing mood.
One of my favorite candles is from Anthropologie. While in Atlanta, I was able to stock up on this one.
The Capri Blue Mercury Glass Jar Candle has a wonderful fruity scent. Besides the awesome scent, this jar emits a beautiful glow, capturing the flickering light from the burning candle. Once I finished burning all of the candle though, I couldn’t throw it away. It is too beautiful, which make these mercury glass jars perfect to repurpose and reuse.
Instead of throwing out the glass jar, I decided to fill it with my 100 Positive Affirmations. This recycle project was so fun and easy to do!
Here’s what I did:
I carefully cleaned out all the wax by scooping it out. It’s easier if you do this when the wax is slightly cooled. Be careful not to burn yourself. Then I washed it thoroughly with warm soap and water, and let dry. So simple.
You can purchase the digital download to my Positive Affirmations in the Shop. My file also comes with labels for you to use and decorate your container. I printed my label out on heavy weight card stock, then printed all 100 affirmations onto regular copy paper, cut them up and then place into jar. Easy peasy!
This is what the jar looks like with the lid in place. It’s etched with beautiful scroll designs, which gives it an old world decor. I love that!
These affirmations are now sitting on my desk beside my computer. Now whenever I need some positive self talk, all I need to do is just open my glass jar and pull out a strip to read out loud. So much fun!
